Characteristics of the finger tips of the palm in astrological view

Of the five fingers on a palm, the thumb is on one side and the rest four on the other in a row. The regions below these four fingers are designated as owned respectively by Jupiter, Saturn, Sun and Mercury starting from the index finger to the little finger in order. The other regions have no specific finger. According to oriental palmistry, the region owned by Jupiter below the index finger and attached with the thumb is said to be controlled by Moon. Similarly, that below the little finger and the region ruled by Mercury is said to be ruled by Venus. The region below that ruled by Sun and the third finger is owned by Mars while that below the middle finger and the region of Saturn is said to be ruled by the earth i.e. Ascendant. Since, according to classification of planets in Astrology, the pair viz. Moon and Jupiter, Mercury and Venus, Sun and Mars, Saturn and Earth are of same group, therefore it is justified that these four fingers are also related with these regions of palm.

The relation of the shape of the finger tips with planetary positions in the natal chart is now being discussed. The tips are divided into four sections. The first one is squared, the characteristics of which are comparable to those of earthy palm. The next one is spatulate, the characteristics of which are those of fiery palm. The third is round shaped, the characteristics of which resemble those of airy palm while the fourth one is pointed having the characteristics of watery palm. Therefore, for a squared tip, the respective finger will be related with an earthy sign in the natal chart or the Navamsha chart. Similar, are the cases with other classes of tips.

A keen study of different palms will reveal that in any palm, tips of all the fingers are not usually of the same shape because in any natal chart, the planets and other stellar bodies are distributed in signs of different elements or in the corresponding Navamsha chart. Combined with this, the aspects of different planets on any one will be reflected in the inclination of the corresponding finger and other signs. Therefore, in a word it may be said that the nature of the palm in respect of element, finger tips and other signs are in correspondence with the planetary positions in the natal chart or in different Vargas.
