Astrological justification for the different houses signifying education

Academic achievement which is usually identified with the term “Education” is a three layered process. The first stage is based on memory, the second based on merits and intelligence while the third on higher intelligence and wisdom. In addition, some fields of education are related with jobs undertaken by the native.
Memory based education starts from the very childhood in the domestic atmosphere. During this period, a child in his domestic circle follows the behavior of others and particularly from the mother. During this period, the child tries to copy whatever he comes across or listens. In the childhood, the sensitivity of the native is very high which makes the native conscious about his family and greater environment and this makes the basis of the primary education. The fourth house in a natal chart signifies home, family, mother, mind etc. In the Zodiac, the relevant sign is Cancer, the cardinal watery sign of Tamas nature ruled by Moon. Moreover, Cancer is the sign of exaltation for Jupiter and the inimical sign for Mercury, the significator of intelligence. In the planetary kingdom, Moon signifies mother, mind, family, house, feelings and domestic happiness. Therefore, for the primary education based on memory in the domestic atmosphere, a relation of the fourth house and its lord in the natal chart together with the sign Cancer and its lord Moon is evident. Moreover, Cancer is the sign of exaltation for Jupiter, the significator of wisdom which means that the actual basis of knowledge starts through feelings and sensitivity. But the sign Cancer being inimical for Mercury, it is not helpful for development of sharp intelligence and rationality. Therefore, it is quite justified that the memory based primary education is related with the fourth house and its lord in the natal chart together with the sign Cancer and its lord Moon.
After childhood, the education based on merit and intelligence starts from the juvenile stage. Merit has two fold origin – the first being hereditary and the second being the manifestation of the accumulated result of deeds in previous incarnations according to Hindu Philosophy. The hereditary expression is composed of the feelings and the sensitivity earned from the mother and the intelligence together with brain activity comes from the father. In the Zodiac, the significator of father is the Sun which is the origin of the entire creation and terrestrial life in our solar system. Therefore, Sun is considered as the father of the total living beings on the earth. In the Zodiac, Sun rules over the fifth sign Leo which determines merit, talent, fame as also offspring. Again, the accumulated results of deeds in previous births is manifested in the third house of the natal chart in the present birth in the form of common-sense, inquisitiveness, intelligence etc. as signified by the third sign Gemini – dual airy sign of Sattwik nature in the Zodiac ruled by Mercury. The prince of the planetary kingdom Mercury is the significator of all these traits. The third sign counted from the Gemini is Leo which therefore is the house of efforts and courage of Sattwik intelligence. Further, the merit based education is judged from the fifth house in the natal chart and therefore from the sign Leo in the Zodiac. The fifth house is the significator of the consequence of the Ascendant which also expresses itself in the form of offspring. The fifth house being the next from the fourth house i.e. Cancer in the Zodiac ruled by Moon, it is apparent that the merit based education originated from heredity and deeds in previous births will start after memory based education signified by the fourth house and the sign Cancer.
Therefore, the consequence of the merit based education will be judged from the fifth house counted from the fifth house i.e. the ninth house in the natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Saggitarius. This is manifested in the form of wisdom having its origin two fold. The first is the memory based education together with the merit based education together with the experiences derived from the deeds in the present birth and the second is the senses derived from the accumulated results in the previous births of the native manifested in the present birth.
It has already been explained above that after the memory based education in the childhood, the merit based education in the juvenile stage is judged from the fifth house of the natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Leo, the fixed fiery sign of Rajas nature ruled by the Sun, the origin of the terrestrial creation and the significator of the father and the soul. Therefore, the knowledge about Supreme Self has its seed in the sign Leo. The fifth sign counted from Leo is Saggitarius - dual fiery sign of Sattwik nature ruled by Jupiter and composed of three constellations of which the first is Moola ruled by Ketu wherein the wisdom of Jupiter remains in latent form. Therefore, the manifestation of merit as wisdom is established. Again, in a natal chart, the job of the native is judged from the tenth house having its origin in the ninth sign counted anti-clockwise from the tenth house i.e. the sixth house in the natal chart and the highest expression of the tenth house occurs in the tenth house counted from the tenth house i.e. the seventh house in the natal chart. Therefore, for the best manifestation of job, the strength required is to be judged from the third house counted from the seventh house i.e. the ninth house in the natal chart. Further, the place of happiness of the sixth house is the fourth house counted from the sixth house i.e. the ninth house. Therefore, these two being superimposed in the ninth house, the latter is the place of experiences derived from work done by the native in the life time.
Again, the detrimental house of the physical body of a native after death is the eighth house in the natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Scorpio. After death, the ideas stored by the native in the brain during life time are accumulated in the second house from the eighth house i.e. the ninth house in the natal chart. In the Zodiac, the eighth sign Scorpio is fixed watery sign of Rajas nature and the sign of debilation of Moon, the significator of mind and feelings i.e. after death when all feelings appear to be destroyed actually remain in a coiled form of a snake i.e. in the form of Kulakundalini Sakti. Therefore, the ideas inherited from the previous incarnations and the experiences together with merit acquired in the present birth combinedly give rise to the wisdom of the native in the ninth house which leads to research oriented advanced learning which ultimately results in the form of the supreme knowledge developed in the native.
As mentioned above, work is judged in a natal chart from the tenth house and therefore its consequence is to be judged from the fifth house therefrom i.e. the second house in natal chart which is therefore the house of experience derived from work done together with the results of the activities. The fifth house counted from the second house i.e. the sixth house in the natal chart signifies the consequence of this i.e. sensual feelings, energy for activity etc. of which the consequence is the fifth sign counted therefrom i.e. the tenth house. In other words, the accumulated results of deeds in one birth are manifested in the form of work based education and the working ability signified by the sixth house in the subsequent birth in the form of sensual feelings. Therefore, the work based education is to be judged from the second house in the natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Taurus – fixed, earthy sign of Rajas nature – the passive field of the Demon Master Venus and the sign of exaltation for Moon, the significator of feelings. It is, therefore, clear that in a material field, the mental strength and the intuitions required for activities for the purpose of material enjoyments in life are to be judged from the sign Taurus in the Zodiac and therefore from the second house in the natal chart.

Explanation for the maleficness of the third, sixth and eleventh lords in a natal chart

Virtue is what helps the existence and progress of the self with the environment. Therefore, anything antagonistic to this is vice. All the deeds of a native are controlled by the complexes and the six instincts of a native. In the Shreemodbhagobat Geeta, the Lord Krishna said “no body can live even for a single moment without doing any work. Under the influences of the complexes and the instincts, the native is compelled to do work every moment.” (Shreemodbhagobat Geeta, Chapter 3, Karma Yoga, Shloka 5). When these complexes become the driver for a native, these act inimically. As such, the six instincts viz. Kama (lust), Krodha (anger), Lobha (greed), Moha (obsession), Moda (pride), Matsayra (malice) are combinedly described as six enemies. Of these, the most dominating are greed, lust and pride. In the Zodiac, pride as well as self publicity and desire for establishment are judged from the third house in the natal chart which in the Zodiac is the sign Gemini ruled by Mercury. The complexes and the six instincts are signified by the sixth house which in the natal chart is the sign Virgo also ruled by Mercury. Income and finance are judged from the eleventh house which in the Zodiac is the sign Aquarius ruled by Saturn. Since the Zodiac or the Kalapurusha Chakra as it is said in Hindu Astrology represents the Creator or the human being in general. Therefore, the different signs and their lords of the Zodiac signify the balanced condition or the natural equilibrium of an individual and human society in general. The lord of the third sign Gemini i.e. Mercury being dual airy of Sattwik nature signifies inquisitiveness, child like simplicity, intelligence etc. which actually determine the inherent strength and personality of a native. Similarly, the sixth sign Virgo ruled by Mercury being dual earthy sign of Sattwik nature signifies use of the six instincts and the complexes in a idealistic manner. Mercury being the significator of the nerve system in the body, inquisitiveness and desire for learning as well as all activities are controlled by the nerve system. Again, the eleventh sign is Aquarius which is fixed airy sign of Rajas nature and the Mool Trikona places for Saturn and Rahu and therefore signifies huge income of money. Since Saturn is the hermit planet and the significator of hard labour, it implies that income should be done through diligence which makes the native appreciate the real values and usage of money.
But when an individual is controlled by the six instincts and the complexes, their effects become adverse for the native. According to the sage Parashara “ In the Koli Yuga when the vices are the controller, the benefic or malefic nature of the planets for a native are not determined by their respective natural characteristics, but by their relative positions and the rulership of the signs with respect of the Ascendant.” Under the influence of these, the natural benefic planets act adversely for some natives and the reverse is the case with natural malefics. In other words, almost all individuals do not follow the Divine Instructions of the Supreme Lord as written in the symbolic language of the Zodiac excluding the stellar bodies which ultimately bring harm for the individuals. For this, in this Kali Yuga mostly controlled by the vices of Saturn, the significator of the third house is Mars that of the sixth house is Venus and of the eleventh house is Rahu. In Mars, Tamasik ego is manifested in full together with strong desires of self establishment and exposition without limit which bring disaster to the environment and consequently to the native. In accordance with this, the third sign Gemini in the Zodiac is the inimical sign for Mars as the result of which its function becomes more adverse for the native. Similarly, the sixth sign in the Zodiac is Virgo wherein the significator Venus becomes debilated as the result of which the malefic effects of Venus are more expressed here leading to harms to the native and to its surroundings. Finally, the unbounded and uncontrolled greed of Rahu makes the native without balance and consequently due to the abuses of illegal earnings and material enjoyments, the native invites self destruction together with harms to the surroundings.
For these reasons, according to the sage Parashara, the lords of the third, sixth and eleventh houses in a natal chart are considered as malefics for all.

Justification for judging father from the ninth and the tenth houses in a natal chart

In a natal chart, the Ascendant and its lord signify the native. Therefore, according to astrological principles, the ninth house from the Ascendant signifies the origin and the fifth house the consequence of the native. In the Zodiac, the life cycle is assumed to start in Aries. Therefore, its origin is at Saggitarius and the consequence it Leo. Leo is fixed fiery sign of Rajas nature ruled by the Sun which carries the seed of the terrestrial life. This seed is manifested as life in the cardinal fiery sign of Tamas nature i.e. Aries through the intermediate stage of the dual fiery sign Saggitarius of Sattwik nature. Ninth house also signifies Guru i.e. Master, fate or fortune originated from the previous lives, religion, conscience etc. Religion signifies what maintains this huge creation of the universe and philosophically it also signifies the Supreme Lord or God. The word “Guru” means who removes the darkness of ignorance through sacrifice, devotion, conscience etc. which actually indicate God. As such, God is also termed as Supreme Father i.e. Who is the creator and the maintainer of this universe and the life cycle. Therefore, in this sense, ninth house signifies, apart from God, the father who gives birth to the native.
In an animal body, the seed of the new life is sowed by the father in the womb of the mother. For human beings, the mother is judged in a natal chart from the fourth house for a male being and the tenth house for a female being which in the Zodiac are represented by the signs Cancer and Capricorn respectively. Therefore, the seventh house from the fourth house is the tenth house or vice-verse which signifies the husband of the mother who in a normal case is the father of the native. Moon itself is the significator of mother while the lord of the sign Capricorn is Saturn signifying the Eternal Time which is responsible for the entire creation and destruction. And in cases where the mother marries for the second time, the father of the native is signified by the ninth house of its natal chart.
Therefore, judging father from the ninth and the tenth houses do not bear similarities in all cases. Ninth house signifies the Supreme origin of creation i.e. God as well as the earthly father in cases where the mother marries again after the birth of the native but otherwise, the tenth house also signifies the seed-giver father together with the ninth house also.

Explanation for the destructive functions of the lords of the second & the seventh houses in a natal chart

In Astrology, longevity cum death is judged from the eighth house and its lord in a natal chart as also the eighth house counted from the eighth house i.e. the third house in a natal chart. The twelfth house counted from the eighth house i.e. the seventh house signified the loss of longevity and so also the twelfth house from the third house i.e. the second house. Therefore, the second and the seventh houses are designated as significators of death. Of the two, the malefic influence of the second house and its lord is more than that of the seventh house and its lord. Therefore, the second house and its lord are termed as chief significators of death or “Primary Maraka” while the seventh house and its lord are designated as “Secondary Maraka”. The astrological explanation for this is that the seventh house being the detrimental place of the Ascendant signifies decay of body while the second house for the same reason signifies decay of longevity. Therefore, a native born in a higher longevity range can continue even with a decaying and physically incapable body but a native born in a lower longevity range can face death with an otherwise sound health. Such examples are very common in our daily life. The astrological explanation for this is furnished below: -
In ancient scripts, it is said that the one of the factors influencing human longevity is the mode of living. Following pious i.e. Sattwik mode of living increases longevity while excessive material enjoyments reduce vitality of life resulting in death. In Astrology, Venus is the significator of material enjoyments which owns the signs Taurus and Libra which are respectively the second and the seventh sign of the Zodiac. The second house in a natal chart signifies accumulated wealth, ornaments, face and all its functions and the seventh house signifies lust, spouse, partner, environment etc. Taurus is fixed earthy sign of Rajas nature and Libra the cardinal airy sign of Tamas nature. Taurus is the negative or passive sign of Venus while Libra is its positive and active sign. Therefore, Venus of Taurus signifies self-centered material enjoyments while in Libra its desire for material enjoyment is much refined and involved with the environment but since both the signs signify material enjoyments and sensual pleasures, therefore both are damaging for longevity i.e. significator of death. In the solar system also, one of the chief enemies for the Sun, the origin of creation is Venus because Sun belongs to the creative group and Venus to the destructive group. Venus brings in death in guise of apparent pleasures. Consequently, in the Zodiac Taurus and Libra as well as their lord Venus are treated as significator of death. In accordance with this, the second and the seventh houses as also their lords in a natal chart are considered as Marakas for a native. Again, comparatively Taurus being the negative sign of Venus has the degree of destructivity much more than that of Libra together with lack of refined nature. On the contrary, Libra being the positive sign of Venus of airy nature has the refined characteristics and maintains good relation with environment.
From material view point, financial strength is considered as the most powerful in the present era. A sound financial capacity can bring all sorts of material enjoyments and power to a native. But as it is said, too much of anything brings destruction. Therefore, material enjoyments including sensual pleasures and influence over the environment earned in lieu of money ultimately invite destruction and death. Therefore, of the two maraka places viz. the second and the seventh houses in a natal chart, the second house is more destructive. Again, the second house signifies face and its functions viz. intaking of food and delivery of speeches. Therefore, intaking of harmful food in quality and quantity and delivery of unpleasing words to others creating enemy result in huge loses and ultimately death. Moreover, the second house signifying accumulated wealth is likely to create many enemies and causes huge loss and ultimately death. Therefore, viewed in total, it may be said that the malefic nature of the second house and its lord is more than that of the seventh house and its lord. As such, the second house is termed as primary maraka and the seventh house the secondary one.
Further in Astrology, a word “Karmayu” is used to signify the life span which a native has to pass through till the completion of the deeds the native has to perform in the present birth even if the native crosses over the life span calculated mathematically according to Astrology. In a natal chart, work is judged from the tenth house which in the zodiac is the tenth sign Capricorn, cardinal earthy sign of Tamas nature, the negative field of the ruler Saturn. The success of job is judged from the eleventh house counted from the tenth house i.e. the eighth house of the natal chart which is again the house of longevity cum death. In the Zodiac, it is the sign Scorpio. Since Saturn signifies hermits and servants, therefore by virtue of devoted activities without any personal desires increase longevity. Again, the fifth house counted from the tenth house is the second house while the tenth house counted from the tenth house i.e. the seventh house signifies the highest expression of activities which means these two are respectively the primary and the secondary Maraka places for the natal chart. In the Zodiac, the lords of the corresponding two signs viz. Taurus and Libra is Venus which is an intimate friend of Saturn. Therefore, good and devoted activities signified by the tenth sign Capricorn influence beneficially the two signs Taurus and Libra thereby reducing their malefic natures. The same argument holds for any natal chart.
In fine, it may therefore be concluded that the second and the seventh houses and their lords in a natal chart are destructive for a native of which is the second house is more harmful, but following a pious living and performing good and devoted activities reduce the Maraka nature of the two.

Astrological significance of designating Jupiter as the most benefic planet

According to Hindu Philosophy, the Supreme Being manifested Himself in the entire creation originated from Himself and He enjoys Himself in innumerable forms of living and non-living nature according to their characteristics and the ultimate goal of every being is to return to its Origin i.e. attainment of its Supreme Self. The main obstruction towards this course is the interaction of the so called six enemies’ i.e.  different complexes which result in the interaction of a being with the environment leading to its deviation from the path of eternal good. To overcome these obstacles, it is absolutely necessary to follow the God-directed path of living.
According to Modern Physics, every being, animate or inanimate always emits waves of certain definite frequency and the being concerned is but an instantaneous projection of its characteristic wave bounded by space and time. According to Hindu Philosophy, at the start of the Creation when there was nothing in existence, the Supreme Sound came out from darkness to start the creation. This Supreme Sound is the Brahma as defined in Hindu Philosophy which means expansion and manifestation of the Supreme Being in innumerable forms. At the start of the creation, the Supreme Wave was the manifestation of the Brahma and this immediately started dividing himself in various sub-waves which gave rise to different beings according to their frequency and amplitude. The resultants of the various superimpositions of these branch waves had different frequencies and amplitudes leading to innumerable forms of living and non-living entities. The greater the differences of the amplitudes and frequencies of these resultant waves from those of the Supreme Waves, the greater will be the deviation of the individual beings from the Supreme self. In other words, the natural difference thus originated from the Supreme self forms the hard coating on each individual being termed as the “Maya” or “Illusion” as said by some sages. The greater this difference, the harder will be the coating on the individual resisting the manifestation of the Supreme self within the individual being concerned.
Therefore, for the progress of the individual soul towards attainment of Godhood, it is absolutely required to pierce the hard coating of the “Maya” and realization of the self. In the language of Modern Physics, it may be said that for a branch wave to attain the harmony with the original Godly wave, it is necessary to reduce gradually the mutual interactions with other branch waves and ultimately to brings it to the end.
In our solar system, the relative position of the planets and other stellar bodies with respect to the earth is: - Sun – Mercury – Venus – Earth – Mars – Jupiter – Saturn. Since Sun is the origin of terrestrial life, therefore Saturn remaining at the extreme opposite end is assumed as the significator of destruction. Mercury and Venus remaining between the Sun and the Earth create obstruction for the continuance of life; similarly Mars and Jupiter remaining between Earth and Saturn cause obstacles towards destruction. If we divide the Zodiac into three equal parts starting from Aries, it is assumed that the portion from Aries to Cancer signifies the first part of life, portion from Leo to Scorpio signifies the middle part and the remaining portion from Saggitarius to Pisces signifies the last part of life. The chief ruler of the first two parts is the Sun assisted by Moon, the child planet Mercury, the young planet Mars and lastly Venus, the significator of material enjoyments and the life period between youth and middle age. Under their influences, a native starting from birth up to the middle age acquires huge experiences through the activities for existence and expansion combined with fulfillment of material desires. These experiences produce results in the last part of life covered by Saggitarius to Pisces. The cream of such experiences gathered up to the middle age are stored as wisdom under the influence of the old planet Jupiter which is also the significator of extracting and thereafter assimilating the substance of all foods intaken by the native. After this, the wisdom thus acquired results in the feelings of the mortality of the earthly life and thus helps to attain spiritual consciousness which gradually leads the native towards salvation cum liberation from earthly complexes signified in Pisces ruled by Jupiter, the Master of the deities.
The ninth sign of the Zodiac is Saggitarius, the positive sign of Jupiter wherein are judged religion, Guru i.e. Master, conscience etc. Jupiter of Saggitarius engages the native in organizational work for the good of the human being which maintains the creation and which is actually termed as religion. From the wisdom of this sign develop in a native the activities without any personal attachment which are signified by Saturn and the sign Capricorn. Realizations and experiences gathered from such activities are accumulated in the form of wisdom and instincts signified by Saturn of Aquarius which are expressed in the form of common-sense and intuition in the next birth. The ultimate result of such accumulated wisdom and instincts are liberation from the complexes leading to Moksha i.e. unification with the Supreme Soul signified by Jupiter of the sign Pisces, the dual negative sign of watery nature wherein the individual soul remains with the Supreme Soul in opposition at Supramental level. The third sign from Saggitarius i.e. the field of courage is Aquarius which is actually the wisdom at its highest level when the native identifying himself with the entire universe takes the responsibility to carry the entire load of the world signified by the symbol of Aquarius and through these activities gradually develops the sacred desire to devote himself to the Supreme Soul signified by the negative sign of Jupiter i.e. Pisces.
According to Astrology, there are both similarities and dissimilarities between Jupiter and Saturn. In Astronomy, both are designated as superior planets situated on the same side of the earth. Jupiter enriches the native with wisdom which is the reality of the universe through Supreme Pleasures. From Jupiterian angle of view, the world is the manifestation of the ever blissful pleasures. But Saturn on the other hand, exposes to the native the other side of the absolute truth of life through sorrows. The mortality and sorrowful experiences of the native endowed by Saturn help the native to be purified being freed from all complexes and then and then only the wisdom of Jupiter gives the native the light of immortality and the ultimate significance of this creation. According to Astrology, Jupiter is the old planet while Saturn the very old and therefore the mortality of this earthly life and the immortality of the soul are realized on the verge of old age when the passions of youth combined with earthly desires come to the end i.e. the influences of Mars and Venus become fainter and fainter.
According to optics, in the solar spectrum Jupiter rules over the yellow band and Saturn the violet band i.e. from the middle of the spectrum the regions ruled by these two planets are on either side. Therefore, these two regions influence a native in opposite senses. A native ruled by Jupiter feels the existence of inherent blissful pleasures of the Supreme Soul in everything while to a native ruled by Saturn the same world appears to present itself in the form of sorrows. In other words, a Jupiterian native experiences the positive side of life while a Saturnine observes the negative side of the same.
Analysis of the solar spectrum shows that the two opposite ends are covered by the red and the violet regions. Wave length of the red band being more, the frequency is less and the reverse is the case with violet region. For the creation of life, the waves of the red region are necessary and for destruction the same of violet region is required. The region covered by Jupiter stands approximately midway between the two while the exact middle region i.e. green band is ruled by Mercury signifying new creation. These two bands viz. green and yellow influence the two ends. Of the two, the band ruled by Jupiter has wave length less than that of green band and therefore its penetrating power is more and consequently its neutralizing capacity is higher but the indigo band ruled by Venus is in the vicinity of violet region and therefore has its destructive capacity higher than that of Mercury. The wave length of the violet band being less than that of blue band, the destructive capacity of the latter is expressed through delicate feelings of apparent happiness. It, therefore, appears that the band ruled by Jupiter can neutralize to a large extent the destructive influences of other bands and therefore helps the creative function of the solar spectrum. This is of course totally experienced when Jupiter is not afflicted by malefics in a natal chart i.e. the influence of this band is not badly interfered by other bands. Therefore, it may be concluded that the benefic influence of Jupiter is the most in the planetary kingdom so far as an individual life is concerned.

Financial success without the development of the surroundings is not possible - astrological explanation

In a natal chart, financial success is judged from the eleventh house and the seventh house signifies spouse, partner, business and the entire environment excluding the self. In the Zodiac, the respective signs are Aquarius and Libra. Aquarius is fixed airy sign of Rajas nature ruled by Saturn while Libra is cardinal airy sign of Tamas nature ruled by Venus. In the astrological classification, Venus and Saturn are intimate friends to each other. The fifth sign counted from Libra is Aquarius i.e. Aquarius signifies the consequence of Libra which means the environment determines the income or financial success. Therefore, if the seventh house in a natal chart or the sign Libra be strong and beneficially disposed and without any influence of malefics, it will result in the financial success of the native. In other words, the seventh house or its lord signifying the environment is the determining factor of financial success of a native. It is also feasible from common-sense that the source of income of a native is his transaction with the environment in every aspect which if be benefic for the native adds to a degree to the income of the native. On the other hand, if the seventh house or its lord or the significator of the seventh house or the sign Libra be weak and afflicted by malefics, it consequently weakens the eleventh house also. Therefore, under the influence of other planets, if the financial gain happens for a certain period of time, ultimately it does not last for long due to the weakness of the eleventh house etc. In the practical case also, it is seen that in case of weakness of the environment, the field of earning for the native gradually shrinks and ultimately becomes totally closed resulting in ultimate financial hazards for the native. Therefore, astrologically it is totally agreed that without the development of the environment, the financial success of a native can not happen permanently.

Astrology – in dispute, disregard and misconception

Origin of dispute - dispute actually owes its origin to misconception and practices going on with this subject in human life. The latter is actually the primary source of the dispute. Astrology is practiced and cultured by different classes of people which may be categorized in the following manner: -

  1. Those who consider Astrology as something much, much above the scope of modern science and something lying above human rationality because of its presumed occult nature. They are not ready to accept anything which is not supported by some ancient scriptures without taking into account that the relevant scriptures might have been lost or destroyed in course of time or not conceived at all by the ancients in view of the present spheres of life.
  2. At the opposite pole is lying the second group of people who project themselves to have scientific outlook which does not permit anything beyond their conception of limited jurisdiction. They think that inclusion of Astrology in the realm of science would highly degrade the discipline of science. Such an idea may be considered equivalent to the attempt of some blind people to realize the shape of an elephant with the help of touch at different organs of the elephant by different blind persons. In fact, the very conception of science is totally misinterpreted by these so-called scientists or better be called as pseudo-scientists. In the nature, every phenomenon is related with every other phenomenon through certain links. The very task of science is to explore these yet unknown links on the basis of which prediction may be made for yet other unknown phenomena in nature or to create in the laboratory newer events yet not-existing in nature. In this context, it may be recalled that some hundred years before Chemistry was not given the status of science but the idea has been totally changed in later ages through the consistent and bold efforts of some scientists as the result of which Chemistry was later given the status or dignity of a very important discipline of science. Now, let us consider the case of Astrology. It was observed either through statistical data or through the yogic insight of the devoted sages in the earlier era that some similar combinations of planets and constellations in the Zodiac may be linked with the similar nature of events in different spheres of life for different individuals. Such results were tabulated in their astrological works and were subsequently elaborated and modified by latter astrologers. Naturally, such relations are sufficient to draw the attention of inquisitive mind to explore these unknown links and this is the task of a true scientist who should never reject the idea of these inherent links without test out of his personal belief or biased prejudice. It should be kept in mind that if acceptance of some idea without test be unscientific, the same is equally true for rejection of the same without test and this is more so, when instead of any ordinary people, it happens through some so-called persons claimed to have scientific outlook but in reality better be called as pseudo-scientists. It is funnier to note that such neglecting outlook is continuing in the present era designated as the age of science and not in the earlier centuries of ignorance and conservative ideas. In a word, it may be uttered that science is being molested in this age even termed as the age of science in the same manner as was done in much earlier ages so far as the subject Astrology is concerned.
  3. The third category includes people who exploit Astrology for commercial purpose such as sale of Gems, Herbal roots, Metals, performance of rituals etc. in lieu of huge amount of money which yield no fruitful result for the public and which in turn gives rise to disbelief in Astrology of the public in general.
  4. The last category comprise of those who with the help of some popular books on astrology available in the market make predictions in their personal areas and when majority of these prove to be false, the concerned people lose their belief in Astrology.

But our allegation is not for such common people or commercial persons or for self advertised King or Emperor of Astrology because in this era, the usual practice is to cheat others in every sphere of life taking advantage of ignorance of the customers from which these persons are not excluded. But our allegation is against those who pose to project themselves as scientific minded or scientists but having no scientific outlook rather having obsession in personal belief or inclination having no logical and rational views. The chief objections raised by these pseudo-scientific people against Astrology are: -

  1. Most of the predictions made by even the eminent astrologers practicing in market have been proved to be false.
  2. Many eminent scientists do not believe in Astrology.
  3. The discipline Astrology includes a number of ideas which are wrong in view of Astronomy such as considering the Sun, the Moon, the two nodal points termed as Dragon’s Head and Tail as planets, excluding the planets Uranus, Neptune, Pluto etc. from the arena of Astrology.
  4. The very basis of Astrology is unscientific because the planets remaining far- far away from the Earth can in no way influence the human life or other terrestrial phenomena.
  5. The very mechanism of such planetary influence is obscure or better be called as having no base at all.

These objections have been dealt with in details in my works titled “Disputed Astrology - the neglected Mother” which has already been displayed in this blog and therefore requires no repetition here. The interested readers may kindly consult the same. Regarding the objection no. 4 above, argument was placed therein on the basis of “Theory of Relativity”. To elaborate the idea, let us consider a creature living in water which has its view limited on the surface of water only and not extended above or below. It is now assumed that a small stick with both ends tapering is gradually immersed in the water. This will appear to that creature as a point originating from nothing and then gradually increasing in a circle until it reaches its maximum when in reality the stick is halfway immersed. Thereafter, the circle starts diminishing in circumference until it again reduces to a point and thereafter vanishes from the world of the creature when actually the stick is totally immersed in water. This happens due to the limitation of the creature’s view extended on the two dimensional surface although in reality the stick was neither originated from nothing nor vanished, but has its position changed with respect to the third dimension. The same happens in case of creatures like human being or sub-human group animals who have their views limited in three dimensional world and not extended in the fourth dimension i.e. Time. Drawing a parallelism, it can be inferred that when a baby takes birth, gradually grows older and ultimately dies, the matter is simply the change of position of each living being with respect to the fourth dimension i.e. Time. In other words, the concerned being has simply changed its position with respect to Time i.e. the entire episode was already existing in the four dimensional world i.e. the fact was predetermined. This constitutes the very basis of Astrology in view of Modern Physics.

Now the question arises what may be the mechanism of this planetary influences upon the human being. In this respect, difference of opinion exists among the astrologers and it is attributed in a vague manner to the cosmic rays. Particularly, the difference prevails among the oriental and western scholars. In the modern oriental culture perhaps the most important or better be called the only personality who studied the subject in a truly scientific outlook is Jyoti Vachaspati and in the western world, perhaps the only scientist who did the same job is Percy Seymour, an eminent astronomer of UK. But the limitations of the former is probably not correlating the oriental ideas with the modern western science while that of the latter was on the other hand lack of oriental astrological ideas. We shall discuss this stepwise -

Explanation for the importance of the Sun and the Mercury in working life

Astrology is based on the theory of reincarnation and that of deeds. According to this, each individual soul which is but a fraction of the Supreme Soul proceeds through different activities in innumerable births for being united with its origin when the individual soul realizes the sovereign authority of Shree Basudev i.e. Lord Krishna. This gradual progress of each individual depends on the activities in successive births. According to modern physics, every object or living being is but an instantaneous projection of a wave bounded by space and time and the amplitude of this wave depends on its internal energy. In our solar system, the origin of creation is the Sun which is the significator of the soul in Astrology. From the position of the Sun in a natal chart, information regarding the plane in the space from which the soul descended in the present birth can be obtained. Since the progress of the individual soul depends on the present deeds, therefore to judge the activities of the native in the present birth, the deposition of the Sun should better be taken as Ascendant. Further, the affinity for a native towards some specific type of job is also to be determined with the closely related planet or planets with the Sun. In The Shreemadbhagabadgeeta it has been uttered by the Lord Shree Krishna “no body can remain idle even for a single moment since the natural instincts in a human being compel him to do work according to his inherent inclination” (Shreemadbhagabadgeeta, Chapter 3, Karmayoga, Shloka 5). This means that an individual opts for activities which are in harmony with the inborn characteristics of the native. In Astrology, the significator of work is Mercury which is the ruler of the third and the sixth signs of the Zodiac viz. Gemini and Virgo respectively. Gemini signifies common-sense while Virgo signifies the complexes derived from natural instincts. Virgo being the ninth sign counted from Capricorn, the tenth sign in the Zodiac representing work signifies the origin of all activities. In other words, activities are performed out of natural instincts since to judge the activities of a native, it is necessary to analyze his complexes or instincts and therefore the deposition and the strength of Mercury are also to be judged for determining the type of work he gets involved in. It is interesting to note that in the planetary kingdom, Sun is said to be the King and Mercury the Prince. Since royal instructions are carried out through the intermediary of the Prince; therefore, for the progress of the soul the preferred activities are conducted via Mercury, the Prince. Again, according to Biology, the nerve system in the human body controls the activities of the native. The nerve system is signified chiefly by Mercury and the origin of the entire nerve system is the brain signified by the Sun. Therefore, the instructions made by the brain are communicated through the innumerable nerves of the body. Therefore, in a natal chart, the deposition and the strength of Mercury determine the type of work which will be preferred by the native. Therefore, in the working life of a native, the Sun and the Mercury play the most important roles.

Analysis of the relations of Rahu and Ketu with other planets

An objection against Astrology raised by some people of pseudo-scientific outlook is that stellar bodies viz. Sun, Moon, Rahu (Dragon’s Head), Ketu (Dragon’s Tail) have been classified as planets. But these people are totally ignorant about the fact that the ancient Aryan scholars were quite conscious about the exact natures of these species. And these were described as planets only in respect of their similarities regarding impacts on terrestrial phenomena and human life with the actual planets of our solar system. In Applied Astrology, the stellar species are divided into two groups according to their actions; the first of the two is the creative group comprised of the Sun, the strong Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Ketu and the other is the destructive group inclusive of weak Moon, Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Rahu. Rahu and Ketu are the two points of intersection of the ecliptic and the Moon’s orbit around the Earth. These two separated by an angle of 1800 move in the Zodiac in the opposite direction to other planets and remain always at exactly opposite points in the Zodiac. Therefore, from the very definition, it appears that all the planets belonging to the creative group are inimical to Rahu while it is the same for Ketu for planets belonging to the destructive group. We shall now proceed to examine the significance of these relations of Rahu and Ketu with other planets.
According to Applied Astrology, Rahu and Ketu have no characteristics of their own but the two act according to the signs and/or Bhavas and/or planets with which they are related by position or aspect. The very nature of Rahu is to enhance the functions of the signs, Bhavas or the planets related with it and also to create obstructions to these functions. On the contrary, Ketu acts to uproot such functions as are related with the signs these occupy or the planets and Bhavas with which it is related.
According to Hindu Mythology, when nectar obtained by the churning of the ocean by the joint effort of the deities and the demons was being distributed by the Lord Vishnu among the deities, the demon Rahu in guise of the deity tried to have the same. But this pretentious effort of Rahu was realized by the Sun and the Moon. They intimated the same to the Lord Vishnu who then beheaded Rahu with His Sudarshan Chakra. Since the nectar could not pass beyond the neck of Rahu, its head remained alive but the rest of the body turned into a corpse. The head of the deity remained alive by the effect of nectar and was called as before Rahu, but the corpse was termed as Ketu. Due to the sudden death of Rahu, its desires for enjoyments were not fulfilled and as such it remained roaming in the Time and its desires for enjoyments increased more and more. On the other hand, Ketu being lifeless remained totally inactive and as such, the house, the sign and the planets related with Ketu became inactive in a natal chart. This gave rise to the internal enmity of Rahu towards the Sun and the Moon and in the slightest opportunity it swallows the Sun and the Moon which is actually the phenomena of eclipses of the Sun and the Moon. But due to the neck being cut off from the body of Rahu, the Sun and the Moon swallowed by Rahu after some time find the ways to come out which is actually the last stage of any eclipse. Now, let us examine the philosophical significance of this enmity of Rahu.
In Astrology, the Sun and the Moon respectively signify the right and the left eyes of a native. The fifth sign in the Zodiac viz. Leo being ruled by the Sun signifying the soul acts as the third eye while Moon controlling the mind signifies the mind’s eye or the insight. Rahu being the demon is the significator of pretension, greed, hypocrisy, tempter and all illegal enjoyments. As such, a native controlled by complexes very easily falls prey to the temptations of Rahu which leads him to destruction and the hell. Therefore, to realize the pretension of Rahu, it is necessary to activate the insight and the third eye controlled by Sattwik life style. Therefore, an eternal enmity continues between the destructive Rahu with the creative Sun and Moon. Therefore, even if a native gets tempted by the greed signified by Rahu, he after some time gets rid of the same with the help of the insight and the third eye and returns to the path of eternal existence.
The third planet of the creative group is Mars, the controlling deity being Kartika, the military force in planetary kingdom because Kartika was born for the destruction of the evil forces viz. the demons. The function of Kartika is to destroy the evils and to protect the good from all evils. As such, whenever in a society, people being obsessed by complexes under the influence of Rahu start enjoying illicit and unlawful material desires and passions leading to social irregularities, Mars immediately comes into action for the destruction of the evils and to restore the lawful situations in the society. For this reason, Mars is described as “Kumara” in hymn for Mars which is also used for Kartika. Therefore, an eternal enmity exists between Mars and the greedy, cheat and the significator of all illegal activities and irregularities i.e. Rahu.
The next planet of the creative group is Jupiter, the Master of the deities who teaches his disciples the eternity of the soul and lessons antagonistic to material enjoyments. The Eternal Force which has expressed Himself in the entire creation keeps the Dev Guru Jupiter absorbed in the meditation for sublimation of consciousness and to find the way to cross over the complexes. Again, in times of need the Kshatriya Sakti (military) combined with Sattwik Brahmin force of knowledge and wisdom comes into effect to destroy the evils. In harmony with this, of the two signs of Jupiter in the Zodiac, Saggitarius is dual Sattwik, Kshatriya sign of fiery nature while Pisces is dual, Sattwik Brahmin sign of watery nature. Jupiter is characterized by wisdom, conscience, sacrifice, religious outlook, mercy, democratic attitude, liberalism etc. which are totally contradictory to the characteristics of Rahu viz. cheating, depriving others, total selfishness, Tamasik dictatorial outlook, uncontrolled greed etc. Therefore, these opposite characteristics of Rahu and Jupiter make the two inimical to each other. As such, Saggitarius is described as the house of debilation for Rahu and Pisces also a weak sign for it wherein the evil effects of Rahu are manifested in the highest form but often Jupiter out of his Brahmin simplicity and liberalism can not follow properly the hypocrisy of Rahu and as such himself becomes a prey of pretension. Therefore, a conjunction or mutual aspect of Jupiter and Rahu is termed as Guru-Chandal Dosha.
The last stellar species of the creative group is Ketu which is actually a corpse of beheaded Rahu as has been explained in the previous paragraphs. In accordance with this, the characteristics and the functions of the sign, Bhava or the planets with which Ketu gets associated are destroyed as if being senseless or due to the coiled nature of Ketu, these characteristics are manifested in some perverted ways. Again, the latent energy in this coiled form of a snake can be brought into action when the same is aroused by means of meditation, asceticism and self-discipline. Therefore, due to the total difference in the characteristic of Rahu and Ketu, they are always situated in the Zodiac at 1800 apart and are, therefore, inimical to each other although according to Hindu Mythology, they are the body parts of the same demon Rahu.
Now, Let us examine the relation of Rahu with the planets of the destructive group. According to the classification, they belong to the same group and are therefore mutual friends but the nature and consequence of such friendship is the matter of discussion.
Weak or waning Moon belonging to the destructive group is the significator of mental weakness and suppressed complexes. Therefore, the significator of earthly pleasures and illegal enjoyments i.e. Rahu can easily afflict the weak Moon which results in the temptation of the concerned native causing thereby obstructions towards material as well as spiritual progress. In other words, for the spiritual sublimation and material prospect both Rahu and weak Moon cause obstructions i.e. they are of identical nature and are therefore mutual friends.
The next planet of this group is Mercury which in the Zodiac owns two signs viz. Gemini and Virgo. Gemini is dual airy sign and Virgo is dual earthy sign both of Sattwik nature. Gemini is described in one opinion as the sign of exaltation for Rahu which is also very strong in Virgo i.e. in both signs Rahu is highly strong. Mercury is described as the child planet in the Zodiac. Therefore, an affliction of Mercury by Rahu makes the former directed in the path of evils by damaging the common-sense and the benefic intelligence of the native leading him to destruction. Again, Mercury being the significator of speech, such an affliction makes the speeches of the native lewd and uncontrolled but when Mercury is strong and beneficially disposed, the pious and good senses of a simple, holy child together with auspicious, unbiased and Sattwik realistic rationality can recognize an evil and hippocratic motivation of the demon Rahu and as the result the native leaving aside the uncontrolled material enjoyments of Rahu leading to death follows the path of eternal good to get rid of the complexes. Therefore, in such a case Mercury becomes the controller of Rahu and utilizes it as an instrument to attain his ultimate goal of life i.e. attainment of godhood and therefore in such situation, Mercury and Rahu become friendly to each other.
The next member of this destructive group is Venus which is described as natural benefic due to its charming appearance. According to Hindu Mythology, Venus is the Master of the Demons who teaches his disciples the lesson of material enjoyments only. Again, in the hymn of planets in Sanskrit, Venus is described as “Sarbashastra Proboktaram” i.e. who has acquired the authority on all the branches of knowledge. The mystery of creating a new body through the destruction of the old is within his knowledge. This makes Venus inevitable for the continuance of the life process. Rahu is the representative of wicked and sinful persons who is given to unscriptural practices who setting aside the path of the Eternal Life follows the course of uncontrolled material pleasures leading to death. These lessons of the Master Venus are totally manifested in Rahu. Again, according to Greek literature, Venus is the goddess of beauty who is the most attractive and charming for the earthly pleasures. Therefore, in all aspects the characteristics of Rahu are in harmony which those of Venus and as such the two are intimate friends for each other.
The last and the chief planet of this group is Saturn. In our solar system, the position of Saturn is just opposite to the Sun with respect to earth. Sun being the origin of creation in our solar system, naturally Saturn is described as the chief destructive. In the characteristics of Saturn, many mutually opposite traits are seen. A benefic Saturn is realistic devoted to jobs of servicing nature having a scientifically analytic mind equally competent in material and spiritual philosophies, a hermit planet without any personal aspiration while a weak and afflicted Saturn is the representative of cheat, pretender with a separating and narrow mind, origin of all sorrows, mental depression, Tamasik and focusing the real and uncovered appearance of life leading ultimately to death. Therefore, due to the similarities in respect of destructiveness, Saturn and Rahu are strong friends to each other.
We shall now examine the relations of Ketu with the other planets. Since Ketu belongs to the creative group, therefore it is friendly towards Sun, strong Moon, Mars and Jupiter, the exact nature of friendliness is being analyzed.
Sun being the significator of soul has the full manifestation of consciousness. Our solar system gets lighted with Sun which is also the origin of terrestrial life. On the other hand, Ketu is apparently lifeless having no sense but has in itself the energy of soul coiled and latent form. Activation of this energy results in the realization of the Supreme Soul by the native. Therefore, due to the underlying similarities between Sun and Ketu, they are friendly to each other. However, if either or both of the two be weak or afflicted by malefic, then instead of real manifestation and development of consciousness, a pretending expression comes to the surface and the actual significance of Sun becomes unexposed or asleep.
The next planet of the group is strong Moon which is the significator of mind, affection, family, mother, domestic happiness etc. Ketu is the significator of inherent energy having no external manifestation of sensation. Therefore, a relation of strong Moon and Ketu while increasing the mental energy has the mental manifestation in some curved or serpentine way and in respect of affection, domestic affairs etc. the relation causes outward indifference, although it exists in the depth of mind without perversion. Therefore, such a relation between Moon and Ketu becomes friendly to each other.
The next planet of this group is Mars which is the significator of tremendous activity and mental energy. Therefore, a relation of Ketu with Mars increases the internal martial energy and working capacity and therefore makes the two friendly to each other. In the Zodiac, Mars rules over the cardinal fiery sign Aries which is helpful for the manifestation of the inherent energy of Ketu and the fixed watery sign Scorpio which is helpful for the arousal of the coiled energy i.e. “Kundolini Shakti” of the soul. Therefore, Mars and Ketu in the Zodiac behave as intimate friends to each other and actually Ketu is treated as the higher form of Mars.
The last planet of this group is Jupiter which signifies religion, conscience, sacrifice, wisdom, freedom from all complexes, sublimation of soul energy etc. Therefore, the underlying internal energy, spiritual sense, indifference towards external world etc. become helpful for the function of Jupiter forming a friendly relation between the two. In the Zodiac, Saggitarius ruled by Jupiter is described in one opinion as the sign of exaltation for Ketu and the other sign Pisces is also helpful for this purpose. Therefore, these two are close friends to each other in the Zodiac.
We shall now examine the relations of Ketu with the members of the destructive group of which the first planet is weak or waning Moon which is the significator of mental weakness, domestic hazards, pretension of affection and sympathy. Therefore, the underlying energy of Ketu can not destroy such weakness, rather it increases the mental complexes i.e. in such a case the relation between the two is not helpful for each other.
The next planet of this group is Mercury which is the significator of child like simplicity, inquisitiveness, practical and materialistic analyzing capacity; the inherent neural energy for activity etc. but the self-centered apathy of Ketu without outward expression is obstructive for the child like inquisitiveness of Mercury. In harmony with this, Gemini ruled by Mercury is the sign of debilation for Ketu and Virgo also ruled by Mercury is not friendly for Ketu i.e. an inimical relation exists between the two.
The next planet of this group is Venus. Venus, the Master of the Demons is the significator of material enjoyments, lust, passions for female beings, material science and technology, arts etc. The fixed earthy sign Taurus of Rajas nature and the cardinal airy sign Libra of Tamas nature are ruled by Venus. Since these two signs are respectively the second and the seventh signs of the Zodiac i.e. the primary and the secondary maraka houses respectively, Venus is considered as the chief maraka in the Zodiac. Therefore, it has an inimical relation with the underlying creative power of Ketu. Again, Ketu signifying lifeless and senseless body is devoid of physical pleasures and self-centered mentality, it is not in harmony with the seventh sign signifying environment. Ketu signifying inherent spiritual force is contrary to material science, arts and culture, business etc. Therefore, relation between Venus and Ketu is strongly inimical for each other.
The last and the chief planet of this destructive group is Saturn which as has been described in Hindu Mythology as the abandoned son of the father Sun is the significator of inferiority complex and is, therefore, strong enemy for Sun. Saturn is characterized by servicing nature, practical sense, material philosophy and spirituality of a hermit. Of the two signs ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is cardinal earthy sign of Tamas nature while fixed airy sign Aquarius is of Rajas nature. Therefore, the characteristics of senseless Ketu are not in sympathy of those of Capricorn and therefore in this case Ketu and Saturn are inimical to each other but for Aquarius the spiritual sense of Saturn is in tune with that of Ketu but the other characteristics of this Rajasik airy nature of the sign are antagonistic to Ketu. Therefore, in overall analysis, Saturn and Ketu are strongly inimical to each other.

Analysis for the mutual relations between Moon and Mercury

According to Hindu Mythology, the illegal son of Moon is Mercury. According to astrological principles, Mercury is not the enemy of Moon but the reverse is not true i.e. Moon is described as the enemy of Mercury. The Hindu Mythology may be explained as Moon being the father of Mercury bears no enmity for the son out of paternal affection but Mercury bears an enmity or adverse outlook for Moon because of his giving the illegal birth of Mercury. According to astrological principles, Moon signifies the upper layer of mind related with wild emotions whereas Mercury signifies common-sense, child like simplicity and inquisitiveness, rationality, analytical power etc. For any successful and honest effort in life, emotion is extremely necessary but it must be balanced by material rationality; otherwise unbalanced blind emotion is very likely to result in destruction. Therefore, it is clear that emotion must be balanced with rationality derived from Sattwik sense
In the Zodiac, Moon rules over the sign Cancer, the cardinal watery sign of Tamas nature. And of the two signs ruled by Mercury, the third sign of the Zodiac is Gemini, dual airy sign of Sattwik nature while the sixth sign Virgo is dual earthy sign of Sattwik nature. Water and Earth are quite in harmony from the elemental point of view but this is not so for Water and Air. As such, the relation between the signs Cancer and Virgo is third/eleventh i.e. mutually helping but the same between Cancer and Gemini is second/twelfth i.e. is an unfavorable one. In explanation, it may be said that emotion and material rationality are mutually helpful for their expression but the same is not true, rather damaging for each other in the relation between childish inquisitiveness and emotion, because in that case if the childish queries be overshadowed by emotion, it may invite troubles for the native and also for the environment.
In Astrological classification of planets, strong Moon is creative while weak Moon and Mercury are destructive. Therefore, excessiveness of emotion due to strong Moon is damaging for the rationality of Mercury belonging to destructive group but when emotion is diminished due to the influence of weak Moon, it is controllable by intelligence and rationality of Mercury. In other words, weak Moon and Mercury belonging to the same destructive group become mutually helpful for each other.

Analysis for the mutual relations of the two signs owned by Saturn

Analysis for the mutual relations of the two signs owned by Saturn

In the Zodiac, there is no sign owned by Jupiter or Saturn in the first half. The tenth and the eleventh signs viz. Capricorn and Aquarius respectively are ruled by Saturn. Capricorn is the cardinal earthy sign of Tamas nature, the sign of exaltation for Mars and of debilation for Jupiter. Aquarius is the fixed airy sign of Rajas nature, the Mool Trikona places for Saturn and Rahu. The tenth house signifies job or work, field of activity, father etc. while the eleventh house signifies income, success etc. Saturn is described as the very old planet in Astrology representing the down-trodden people, servant, hermits etc. Due to its old age, it signifies slowest motion and in human body it indicates knees and the legs. An afflicted or weak Saturn also signifies fraud, tempter which leads a native to troubles and finally destruction by way to tempting. According to Hindu Mythology, Saturn is the abandoned son of the Sun which gave rise to everlasting enmity between the two. The inner significance of this is that Saturn is the significator of destruction while the Sun of creation i.e. the two opposite traits and from this idea arises the pessimistic outlook of Saturn in respect of material life which ultimately leads the native to self realization and the eternity of the soul. Both Capricorn and Aquarius signify these characteristics. Saturn is also the significator of Time and the Goddess of Saturn is Dakshina Kali who is imagined as the embodiment of extreme Tamasikata. In terms of Physics, Saturn is the significator of violet color while the Sun emits the seven colored rays in a ratio which gives the appearance of white signifying totality and thus in respect of this radiation theory also the Saturn and the Sun are mutually opposite in nature. Being the significator of the Time, Saturn is the indicator of the destruction as well as an impersonal observer of the creative and destructive processes taking place in the universe constantly. Saturn is also described as the Greatest Teacher because it teaches the human being the reality of this mortal worldly life and the eternity of the Soul. According to Hindu Philosophy, any job should be free from desires and Saturn being the hermit planet is the significator of this. Saturn being the representative of the down-trodden people i.e. Sudras as classified in Arian pattern of society is the significator of jobs with servant-like outlook. Such jobs make the native moving continuously upward through different levels of consciousness and ultimately to the stage of liberation from complexes. Since Saturn is one of the slowest planets in the Zodiac, this process takes innumerable births for the native which has been uttered by the lord Sri Krishna in The Sreemadbhagabad Geeta as “only after innumerable births, a native realizes by the wisdom he acquires that I am the Supreme Authority of this universe, but such a Great Soul in embodied form is very rare” (Sreemadbhagabad Geeta, chapter VII, Genan Vignan Yoga, Shloka 19).
Again, in worldly life all activities of living beings are related to material affairs. Saturn has the property of analyzing everything to show it in reality. Conversely, Saturn has also the property to combine all minute particles to give an aggregated material shape.
As such, it is revealed that the characteristics of “Karma” or job as defined in Indian Philosophy are quite in harmony with those of Saturn. Therefore, Saturn is quite befitting as the lord of the tenth sign Capricorn.
The eleventh sign of the Zodiac is Aquarius, fixed airy sign of Rajas nature; it is the second sign counted from Capricorn, third sign from Saggitarius and twelfth sign from Pisces. Again, Aquarius is the fifth sign counted from Libra i.e. the seventh sign of the Zodiac and ninth sign counted from the third sign Gemini.
Eleventh house signifying income and success is the second house from the tenth house which means that the wealth earned out of impersonal and servicing work is the real income or success of life. It also implies that the income gained through Tamasik or servicing work is Rajasik in nature for being utilized in material happiness. Still then, according to Arian culture, such enjoyments should be without any attachment and expectation for return. In this respect also, the hermit planet Saturn is called into action and the consequence of this income is reflected in the fifth sign counted from Aquarius i.e. after completion of the present life cycle in the next incarnation when this reappears in the form of common-sense represented by the third sign Gemini and this justifies the fixed nature of the sign Aquarius. Again, of the three airy sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius being the last one possesses the seed of highest spirituality. Libra being the seventh sign signifies satisfaction of lust as the result of which the fifth sign therefrom i.e. Aquarius signifies the development of spiritual consciousness combined with non-attachment. The fifth sign from Aquarius is Gemini that signifies intuition and common-sense derived from this spiritual seed in the previous births. Therefore, it is clear that from the Hindu Philosophical view point, the lordship of Capricorn and Aquarius being attributed to Saturn is quite justified.
Being the eleventh sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius signifies friend. But such friendship differs from that signified by the fourth sign which characterizes friendship related with heart, fellow-feelings etc. Eleventh sign is the sixth sign counted from the sixth sign i.e. Virgo, the dual earthy sign of Sattwik nature ruled by Mercury i.e. the friendship of eleventh house is actually concerned with enemies of the enemies signified by the sixth sign. Such enemies are in material life on the one hand and on the other hand these are the six instincts of complexes which motivate an individual in earthly activities. The enemy of these six complexes is in reality the self control which is the origin of spiritual consciousness and this is the positive trait of Saturn. Therefore, to judge such friendship from the eleventh sign lordship of Saturn of the sign Aquarius is justified.
Capricorn and Aquarius bear a second/twelfth relation with each other. Of these, the justification of Aquarius as the second sign from Capricorn has been explained in the earlier paragraphs. Now, the lordship of Saturn of Capricorn as the twelfth sign from Aquarius is being analyzed.
The twelfth house signifies expenses, scarifies, emancipation or Moksha etc. The material wisdom and spiritual consciousness that have been earned out of earthly activities signified by Capricorn find their successful utilization in impersonal and servicing work for the good of mankind signified by Capricorn which in turn help the native to overcome the complexes signified by the sixth sign Virgo and thus find liberation in the twelfth sign Pisces. The twelfth sign also signifies bed comforts but Saturn being the hermit planet does not enjoy bed comforts like common people. For such a hermit and devoted person, bed comforts are derived through dedicated work. The hermit remains awakened for the good of the human being when the common people remain asleep in bed comforts. Therefore, the second/twelfth relation between the signs Capricorn and Aquarius is quite justified.

Analysis for the mutual relations of the signs owned by Jupiter & Venus

The second and the seventh signs of the Zodiac viz. Taurus and Libra are owned by Venus, the Master of the Demons while the ninth and the twelfth signs viz. Saggitarius and Pisces are owned by Jupiter, the Master of the Deities. Taurus is the fixed earthy sign of Rajas nature while Libra is cardinal airy sign of Tamas nature. Saggitarius is dual fiery sign of Sattwik nature while Pisces is dual watery sign of Sattwik nature. Taurus and Saggitarius bear a sixth/eighth relation with each other while Taurus and Pisces bear the third/eleventh relation with each other. The same are the cases between Libra and Pisces and also between Libra and Saggitarius respectively. Of these, the sixth/eighth relation is the worst of all while the third/eleventh relation is benefic to a large extent. Again, the two signs owned by Venus are in mutual sixth/eighth relation while the two owned by Jupiter are in mutual fourth/tenth or in angular relation. Further, Libra is positive male sign of Venus while Taurus negative female sign. Similar are the cases with Saggitarius and Pisces respectively owned by Jupiter. It is, therefore, clear that the two positive signs owned by Jupiter and Venus bear mutually third/eleventh relation and so also the same between their negative signs. But a malefic sixth/eighth relation exists between the positive sign of one and the negative of the other. It is also to be noted in particular that the sign of exaltation for Venus, the Master of Demons is in the negative sign Pisces owned by Jupiter, the Master of the Deities.
In Astrology, Jupiter and Venus indicate two opposite streams of life. In Jupiter, all characteristics of Sattwa Guna are present. He is the significator of self realization and sublimation of mind. On the other hand, Venus teaches his disciples the mode of life of material enjoyments relating to Tamasik and Rajasik planes. In the first case, Venus teaches education of material world and in the second case, he teaches to maintain life style of pure material enjoyments. Contrarily, Jupiter of Saggitarius is the significator of Kshatra Shakti (i.e. activity of warrior) combined with sublimation of consciousness towards higher level. The sixth sign from Saggitarius is the negative sign of Venus i.e. Taurus while the eleventh sign is the positive field of Venus i.e. Libra. It implies that material enjoyments of Taurus stand in the way of sublimation of consciousness while the culture of arts and sciences signified by Libra are helpful for the same. Therefore, the sixth/eighth relation between Saggitarius and Taurus and the third/eleventh relation between Saggitarius and Libra are quite justified. This is also supported by the fact that for spreading of fire earth is an obstacle but air is helpful.
Again, eighth sign from Taurus and the third sign from Libra is Saggitarius. Its implication is that mental sublimation starts only after the end of desire for material enjoyments and the real valour of material intelligence signified by Libra is actually the strength of soul in the sublimed form. Therefore, eighth position of Saggitarius from Taurus and the third from Libra are quite justified.
Again, third sign from Pisces is Taurus and eighth sign Libra. The twelfth sign Pisces signifies emancipation from complexes i.e. Moksha. Third house signifies courage, valour etc. The second sign Taurus ruled by Venus is the significator of wealth and material enjoyments and as such is the primary maraka. Naturally, the question arises why the primary maraka sign Taurus signifies courage and strength of Moksha. The significance of this is that wealth and material enjoyments become maraka for human being moved by complexes which lead the native to death. But for a native, free from all complexes, the accumulated wealth is expended for the welfare of others and therefore wealth instead of being maraka becomes the source of strength for such a native. This explains philosophically the position of Taurus as the third sign counted from Pisces. On the other hand, the eleventh sign from the earthy sign Taurus is the watery sign Pisces which signifies that the earthy sign Taurus becomes more fertile with the help of watery sign Pisces leading to its success and thus these two signs are mutually helpful in respect of elements.
But the eighth sign from Pisces is Libra, the positive sign of Venus which is the significator of culture of art, science etc. leading to the development of intelligence because of being cardinal airy in nature. But the eighth house being the significator of obstructions, Libra is not helpful for the functioning of Pisces. Primarily, it may be said that Pisces and Libra are respectively watery and airy in nature and solubility of air in water is very little i.e. these are elementally mismatching. Philosophically, Pisces signifies Moksha where the individual soul being free from all complexes rests in eternal Sattwik amusements with the Supreme Soul which is a matter of deep feelings of higher level. The dual nature of Pisces signifies the both way pleasures of the individual and the Supreme Soul. At this level, there is no place for material Science and Arts. The mutual interactions arising out of such cultures are considered totally obstructive for the characteristics of Pisces. Contrarily, the sixth sign from Libra is Pisces which implies that for the culture of material Science and Arts and intellect, the activities of psychic level are not at all helpful. Thus, the mutual sixth/eighth relation between Libra and Pisces is quite justified.
The two signs owned by Venus are Taurus and Libra. Taurus is the fixed earthy and negative sign of Rajas nature while Libra is the cardinal, airy and positive sign of Tamas nature. The second sign Taurus signifies accumulated wealth, the face of the body and all its functions. The seventh sign Libra signifies environment, spouse, business, partner, lust, physical pleasures etc. Venus of Taurus confines the native in self-centric material enjoyments while Venus of Libra provides the native with a tendency to enjoy contacts with the environment and also an intellectual mentality. Evidently, these characteristics of the two signs, although owned by the same Demon Master Venus are functionally opposite in nature and as such their mutual sixth/eighth relation is quite in harmony.
But the two signs Saggitarius and Pisces owned by Jupiter are in mutual angular relation which like planets in angle, are also helpful to each other. Fourth sign from Saggitarius is Pisces i.e. the place of happiness. Its significance is that consciousness being free from animalhood passes through manhood with a sacred subliming tendency to higher level. And in Pisces the individual soul and the Supreme Soul are in mutual recreation in opposite senses. Its philosophical significance is that the consciousness having a subliming tendency transits through different activities signified by the tenth sign Capricorn and receiving the results thereof signified by the eleventh sign Aquarius finds liberation from all complexes and thereby rests in Sattwik happiness through self-realization and salvation. Again, the tenth sign counted from Pisces is Saggitarius which being the ninth sign of the Zodiac signifies religion, conscience, wisdom etc. and the tenth house from any Bhava signifies the highest manifestation of that Bhava. Therefore, an individual soul being liberated from all complexes in Pisces expresses itself in religious work for the good of the human being and for the continuance of the Creation. These two signs being Sattwik in nature result in unadulterated happiness arising out of salvation. Therefore, the mutual fourth/tenth relation between these two signs owned by the “Master” of the Deities Jupiter is quite in harmony with their characteristics.
